Introduction and Aim
RC Compliance Ltd is an electrical compliance business operating from Warrington, with our core services including PAT Testing, EICR, and Emergency Lighting inspections. We recognise that our operations result in emissions to air and water, as well as the generation of waste. It is our core aim to comply with all relevant environmental legislation, continually reduce our environmental impact, and operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This policy outlines how we intend to achieve those objectives.
Responsibility
This environmental policy applies across all company operations, including management, office services, field site operations, and procurement. Chris Coles holds overall responsibility for ensuring that sufficient resources are allocated to meet our environmental objectives and that this policy is properly implemented.
Chris Coles also holds day-to-day responsibility for monitoring the effectiveness of these objectives and ensuring policy requirements are met. All employees share responsibility within their respective roles to help fulfill these environmental aims.
Objectives
We are committed to the following environmental objectives:
- Making efficient use of natural resources by conserving energy and water, minimizing waste, and maximizing recycling where possible.
- Meeting our strict duty of care requirements concerning waste management by ensuring safe storage, transportation, and lawful recovery or disposal.
- Using recycled or sustainable materials whenever commercially justified.
- Minimizing unnecessary transport usage and regularly servicing our vehicles to maintain optimal fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
- Engaging with suppliers to encourage them to recognize and reduce the environmental impact of their products and transport networks.
- Integrating environmental considerations into capital investment decisions for new equipment, plant, or working practices.
- Informing and training all staff on our environmental objectives and practical steps to meet targets.
- Opting for environmentally friendly cleaning and operational products wherever feasible.
Targets
To support our aims, we maintain practical operational targets:
- Reducing vehicle emissions by scheduling field work efficiently to lower mileage and maintaining rigorous vehicle servicing schedules.
- Minimizing general and hazardous waste by optimizing stock control and accurately scoping jobs to avoid excess material waste.
- Recycling office-generated paper, cardboard, plastics, and metal waste wherever possible.
- Reducing paper consumption by prioritizing electronic documentation, digital certification, and email correspondence.
- Managing energy consumption closely through regular monitoring and staff energy-awareness training.
